This is definitely one of those news that took everyone by surprise, as Arc System Works — completely out of nowhere — released the original Guilty Gear on the PlayStation Store; for PlayStation 4 users to enjoy one of the best fighting games ever made.

The original Guilty Gear was released all the way back in 1998, becoming an almost instant hit amongst fans of the video game fighting genre. Over twenty years later and the Guilty Gear franchise is one of the few fighting game series that has been consistently good with every new entry that Arc System Works releases.

For players who have closely followed the acclaimed fighting series, as well as newcomers to the series, the original Guilty Gear is — even to this day — a game that is still worth checking out; either out of curiosity, or to relive some of those great memories from one of the best fighting games from the late 90s.

First released in 1998, and achieved worldwide recognition with its own original world view and a whole new game system, the legendary 2D Fighting Game 'GUILTY GEAR' now reappearing! Unleash your furious attack chains with the speedy-as-ever 'Gatling Combination'. Destroy your opponent and conclude the match immediately with the 'Sakkai', and many more!

Guilty Gear is available for the PlayStation 4 today.
