He continued, "With Legendary, they have just delivered one amazing film after the next and they care so much about IP, existing properties...I've just been getting in character by going to the arcade and playing lots of Street Fighter 2 and I never lose."

Several beloved Street Fighter characters have yet to be officially cast, including popular fighters like Cammy, Zangief, E. Honda, and Sagat.
With these major roles still unfilled, fans are buzzing with speculation over whether they'll appear in the film and which actors might bring these iconic characters to life.
A recent report from The Hollywood Reporter confirms that production on the new Street Fighter movie is scheduled to kick off next month in Australia.
The project is a collaboration between Legendary Entertainment and Capcom, aiming to bring the beloved fighting game franchise to life once again.
Director Kitao Sakurai, known for directing the wild comedy Bad Trip, will be behind the camera, while the script comes from Dalan Musson, who previously worked on Captain America: Brave New World. Based on this creative pairing, the film is expected to blend high-energy action with quirky humor and strong character moments.
Capcom’s Street Fighter franchise is considered a cornerstone of the fighting game scene, with decades of influence behind it. But its cinematic history has been far less successful.
The 1994 film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kylie Minogue earned a cult following thanks to its campy charm and exaggerated performances, despite receiving mixed reviews and only modest box office returns.
On the other hand, the 2009 spin-off Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li was critically panned and is often cited as one of the genre’s worst video game adaptations of all-time.
Now, with production on a new film about to begin, fans are hopeful this reboot will finally deliver a faithful and thrilling take on the beloved series.
