Lately, we have been getting quite a bunch of news regarding the
Mortal Kombat movie reboot — scheduled to release in theaters on the 5th of March in 2021 — which have revealed the actors that will be playing some of these iconic video game characters.
Back in June we found out that "
The Raid" actor
Joe Taslim was going to be playing Sub Zero, and just a couple of weeks ago we also got confirmation that
"Power Rangers" actor Ludi Lin had joined the project to play Mortal Kombat's main character Liu Kang.
As reported today by The Hollywood Reporter, the
Mortal Kombat movie would have already found its Sonya Blade and Kano in "
The Meg" actress Jessica McNamee and "House of Lives" sitcom actor Josh Lawson, respectively.
According to the source, McNamee is currently in final talks to play Sonya Blade, while Lawson has already closed the deal. What's even more interesting is that it has also been reported that "
Wu Assassins" and "
Deadpool 2" actor Lewis Tan has also been cast as an undisclosed lead character.
Mortal Kombat is expected to hit theaters on the 5th of March in 2021.
