Fans have been recently begun speculating about the possibility of Capcom currently developing a new entry in the critically acclaimed
Street Fighter series. This comes from the fact that EVO 2019 is just around the corner, and Capcom has been unusually silent; considering that they usually make some interesting announcements during the event.
Yoshinori Ono,
Street Fighter series Producer, has recently revealed that there are no plans to begin working on
Street Fighter VI, as their main focus is still
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. To be fair, even if there were plans to reveal a new entry in the series, they wouldn't confirm it before, well, the actual reveal.
During EVO 2018, Capcom revealed a few new characters that were going to be joining
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition — all of which have already been released — so there's still the chance that the developer will reveal some new characters during this year's event; especially after Ono confirmed they're still working on the
Arcade Edition.
Reallistically speaking, however,
Street Fighter VI being revealed any time soon is highly unlikely — so it is best not to hold your breath for that announcement during this year's EVO.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is a brand-new disc that includes all base content from the original Street Fighter V release, Arcade Mode and a code for Character Pass 1 and 2 content, which includes 12 playable characters and 12 premium costumes.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and Steam.
