The official reveal of this long-rumored Alien game at The Game Awards 2018 is just a formality, as 20th Century Fox has trademarked Alien: Blackout for use with computer game discs and software. The application was sent directly to World Intellectual Property Organization (or WIPO) just two days ago, suggesting that Fox is slowly getting ready to announce Alien: Blackout in the near future.
In January, Fox officially announced the acquisition of Cold Iron Studios, which would be responsible for the future of the Alien series in gaming. FoxNext Games also revealed that Cold Iron's first game is a big-budget shooter that will be released on consoles and PC. According to Fox, their original project is set in an action-packed persistent world, steeped in the mysteries of the beloved Alien universe.
Considering that Cold Iron Studios has been teasing this Alien title since April and Producer of The Game Awards Geoff Keighley has revealed that "Worlds Will Change" (paying homage to Weyland-Yutani's famous "Buiding Better Worlds" slogan) on December 6, 2018, it's clear that Alien: Blackout will be officially and finally announced during TGA2018. What's even more fascinating, the game may be revealed by Hideo Kojima, as Metal Gear Solid Director recently paid a visit to 20th Century Fox.
