Aliens: Fireteam Elite launched back in August of this year. The game is a multiplayer co-operative third-person shooter akin to Aliens: Colonial Marines and the Left 4 Dead games. While the game is best played online with friends, you can instead opt for AI teammates. Though the game is clearly inspired by the second instalment in the Alien film series, it actually takes place decades after it.
Developer Cold Iron Studios has held true to their promise of not including loot boxes, though post-launch DLC is on the way. In fact, Season 2 launches as soon as next week — on December 14th to be specific. This content update will be free to players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Season 2 will introduce new weapons, cosmetics, and a brand-new game mode called Point Defense, as well as the Lifetime Stats feature. Also coming to Aliens: Fireteam Elite with the arrival of Season 2 is the 'Nostromo Salvage Pack DLC' which is available to owners of the Deluxe Edition, or can be purchased separately for $9.99.
Though the game itself is available on all of the aforementioned platforms, with the debut of Season 2, Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be coming to Xbox Game Pass (again, on December 14th). That's Microsoft's premium subscription service that allows players unlimited access to hundreds of games for no additional cost.
