Almost a year ago, FoxNext Games announced the acquisition of Cold Iron Studios that would help 20th Century Fox build a multi-platform, multi-genre portfolio of successful games. It's hard to say how 21st Century Fox's recent deal with The Walt Disney Company will affect this ambitious idea, but we do know that Cold Iron is developing a big-budget multiplayer shooter set in the
Alien universe.
It looks like we will get our first glimpse at the title at The Game Awards 2018, which will be broadcasted December 6 at 5:30 PM Pacific Time / 8:30 PM Eastern. According to the show's producer Geoff Keighley, "
WORLDS // WILL // CHANGE on December 6," as he recently wrote on Twitter. Keighley has also posted a short teaser on Instagram that focuses on the aforementioned slogan.
The teaser image spotlights the looped phrase “
worlds will change” in a font thoroughly appropriate for 70s sci-fi, along with a giant "W" in the upper left corner. In the
Alien universe (that started way back in 1979 with Ridley Scott's classic), villainous Weyland-Yutani Corporation has a similar logo, and its “
building better worlds” slogan is pretty similar to the one that’s shown here. Take a look:
