Alien: Isolation originally released back in 2014 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. Seven years ago! Now the singular survival-horror experience is heading for mobile devices.
The original game was developed by Creative Assembly; Feral Interactive is responsible for porting it to mobile, both iOS and Android devices. This developer also ported the game to the Nintendo Switch back in 2019. This time around, it's said that the game has been updated with touchscreen controls and features a fully customisable interface, however, controllers are supported.
The mobile version of Alien: Isolation is set to release on December 16th; it will cost $14.99 / £12.99 and include now only the base game but also all seven additional DLC packs.
Feral Interactive seems confident that no expense has been spared; the game will apparently not only work but work well. "The stunning AAA visuals, arresting narrative and terrifying atmosphere of Creative Assembly’s award-winning sci-fi masterpiece have been faithfully replicated for phones and tablets." According to Feral (via VGC), "this is the complete survival horror experience brought to mobile without compromise."
Bold clams to be sure, here's hoping the port lives up to them. Perhaps inspiration has been taken from Alien: Blackout which launched on mobile devices back in 2019. Below you can check out the official trailer for the mobile port. The visuals are surprisingly impressive.
