Players Abandon BATTLEFIELD V Because They Are Getting Frustrated With Quick Deaths, DICE Says

Electronic Arts and DICE are still trying to find the reason why Battlefield V's player base is much smaller than Battlefield 1's, this time blaming dying too fast in this multiplayer-focused shooter...

While Electronic Acts still hasn't released any official numbers for Battlefield V, we do know that DICE's video game got off to a rough start with launch sales down more than 63 percent compared with 2016's Battlefield 1, at least in the United Kingdom. What “might” have affected the game's sales was EA's mind-boggling decision to give Battlefield V different release dates on different gaming systems.

EA still has seemingly no idea how to promote Battlefield V and has released a special survey asking selected players why they are not coming back to the multiplayer-focused shooter. According to Battlefield V Global Community Manager Dan Mitre, players are quitting and leaving the game behind... because they are dying in the game too much, leading to recent changes in TTK (Time to Kill).

"Although not extremely vocal within our deeply engaged community, we see from our game data that the wider player base is dying too fast leading to faster churn - meaning players may be getting frustrated with dying too fast that they choose not to log back in and learn how to become more proficient at Battlefield V," Mitre explained in a recent disunion with Battlefield V players on Reddit.

It's a pretty interesting hot take, as the vast majority of Battlefield V players have not been asking for the TTK changes, instead suggesting DICE and EA to do something with constantly delayed updates and their absolute lack of communication and basic understanding. Considering that DICE is trying to fix the game against all the odds, there might be some hope for Battlefield V, but I wouldn’t count on it.
