Treyarch's most iconic multiplayer map Nuketown is coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, but it won't be available in the game at launch. In the latest episode of the Call of Duty podcast, Treyarch associate creative director Miles Leslie confirmed Nuketown's return.

Shortly after the podcast dropped, Activision shared the first teaser for Nuketown, revealing that highly anticipated map will go live in the game on November 1st.Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 26th, so that means will have to wait less than one week to play it.

Introduced in 2010's Call of Duty: Black Ops, Nuketown is based on a 1950s U.S. suburb used to demonstrate the effects of a nuclear weapon on a residential area. The small map is known for its frantic, close-quarters combat.

Since its introduction, Nuketown has since become one of Call of Duty's most iconic maps. It's reappeared in numerous games in the series, including 2012's Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, 2015's Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, 2018's Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and 2020's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. While the map usually undergoes some aesthetic changes to match the setting and tone of the game, its essence remains the same.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 takes place in the Gulf War, but Leslie would not say if Nuketown would feature a '90s-themed aesthetic. The teaser clip shared online confirms a classic 1950s-style Nuketown, but what's shown is too brief to see if there are any major changes to the map.

Black Ops will launch with 16 new multiplayer maps, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6. Also returning this year is the traditional Prestige system, much to the delight of longtime series fans.

The interview also revealed that Black Ops 6's Zombies mode will receive another round-based map before the end of the year. The game will launch with two round-based Zombies maps: Terminus and Liberty Falls.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled to be released on October 26, 2024. It will be available for  Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC. Additionally, it will mark the first time that a Call of Duty game is available on Game Pass as a day-one launch title.
