At this point any one in the video game community has heard, or even played id Software's iconic
DOOM—the first-person shooter series that has players going on demon-killing sprees since 1993.
The original
DOOM was a game that helped define the first-person shooter genre as a whole, and in 2016 the series saw the return of the DOOM Slayer in the fantastic
DOOM(2016)—which, once again, seemed to want to redefine the first-person shooter genre by having the Slayer getting rid of the plot within seconds, introducing melee combat that not only is a game-changer, and also encouraging players to never stop moving until the area is rid of demons.
This year, Bethesda revealed that they were working on
DOOM Eternal, a sequel to the 2016 game, which will have the DOOM Slayer slaying demons on Earth. It also happens to be the series' 25th anniversary, and Bethesda have released a brand-new video that shows off some of the DOOM Slayer's most memorable moments in these 25 years of rip-and-tearing goodness.
Bethesda is also creating a new
Slayers Club for players to join, which—as they celebrate
DOOM's 25th anniversary—will be offering players an exclusive Zombie DOOM Slayer skin at launch; with even more awesome content coming their way during the
Year of DOOM, including rewards, events, contests, and more.
