Last month, Bethesda made the very surprising announcement that they were re-releasing the
first three titles in id Software's critically acclaimed DOOM series; becoming available that very same day for home consoles and mobile devices.
An even more interesting bit of information, although it has yet to be confirmed, was the fact that Midway Games'
DOOM 64 had been rated by the PEGI rating system; a Nintendo 64-exclusive game that has never been re-released.
As unconfirmed as it may be, it seems that
DOOM 64 is effectively being re-released, as the game has now shown up on the Australian Classification Board, revealing that the game has been rated M for Mature, it will be Midway Games' original version, and is being published by Behtesda Softworks.
With
DOOM 64 having been classified by the PEGI rating system and the Australian Classification Board, it is only a matter of time until Bethesda finally, and officially, reveals when the game is being released and for what consoles; until then, all we have to do is keep waiting.
