Technical Director at Ubisoft Montreal Raphaël Parent has announced that the upcoming
Far Cry 5 narrative sequel,
Far Cry: New Dawn, has gone gold, which basically means that development is complete and the sandbox shooter is ready for manufacturing ahead of its 15th February release.
According to Parent, the game's PC version will be "
amazing,"
as he and Ubisoft are "very proud of what our team achieved with the PC version of Far Cry: New Dawn and cannot wait for PC players to discover the post-apocalyptic scenario we've created." Quite interestingly,
New Dawn was announced in December, so this
FC5 spin-off is one of the fastest releases in Ubisoft's publishing history.
New Dawn is set 17 years after a global nuclear catastrophe you definitely witnessed if you've played
Far Cry 5. During that period, the world has changed and The Twins have replaced The Father as the main villains of the more bizarre than ever story. In Ubisoft's new title, these children of atom are leading the Highwaymen, who seek to take over the last remaining resources of the ruined world.
Dive into a transformed vibrant post-apocalyptic Hope County, Montana, 17 years after a global nuclear catastrophe. Join fellow survivors and lead the fight against the dangerous new threat the Highwaymen, and their ruthless leaders The Twins, as they seek to take over the last remaining resources.
Far Cry: New Dawn launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 15, 2019.
