The announcement of Far Cry: New Dawn was one of the biggest surprises of last week's The Game Awards. This direct narrative sequel to
Far Cry 5 is set 17 years after a global nuclear catastrophe you definitely witnessed if you've played
Far Cry 5. During that period, the world has changed and The Twins have replaced The Father as the main villains of the upcoming, more bizarre than ever story.
In
New Dawn, these children of atom are leading the Highwaymen, who seek to take over the last remaining resources of the completely ruined world. Ubisoft has released the official character bio for twin sisters Mickey and Lou suggesting that these young villains are even more determined that The Father and their believe in the "might makes right" rule will take its toll during your playthrough.
According to Ubisoft, "The Twins are completely at home in this new world, having grown up in the harsh conditions caused by a cataclysmic event and learned to survive by any means necessary. They lead a merciless band of scavengers, the Highwaymen, across the country plundering and pillaging for their own benefit and enjoyment. For them, there is no tomorrow – only the present."
The bio reveals that Mickey is the head of the group, while Lou with her impulsive nature will stop at nothing to stay at the top of the food chain. The player won't be alone in fighting against The Twins, as Ubisoft will give you a chance to spark the rebellion in co-op with a friend, and some side characters from
Far Cry 5 will also return to help you out, including the charismatic (and armed) Pastor Jerome...
Dive into a transformed vibrant post-apocalyptic Hope County, Montana, 17 years after a global nuclear catastrophe. Join fellow survivors and lead the fight against the dangerous new threat the Highwaymen, and their ruthless leaders The Twins, as they seek to take over the last remaining resources.
Far Cry: New Dawn launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 15, 2019.
