Ubisoft's formula of making open-world games is well-known to the majority of gamers. Everyone knows what to expect from an
Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, The Crew, Watch_Dogs or
The Division game, because they all share the similar "open-world with towers and lots of side-activities" tissue. But
Watch_Dogs 2 and
Assassin's Creed: Origins tried to play with the gamers' expectations and habits.
This year's
Far Cry 5 also has an ambition to be remembered as one of the series' big reformers and the latests IGN's video is dedicated directly to explaining what's exactly new in
Far Cry 5. For example, you're no longer restricted to follow "story missions" and you can non-linearly do whatever you want in three big regions ruled by three members of the Seed family: John, Jacob and Faith.
Also, you won't visit any towers and will unlock activities simply by exploring Montana. Take a look:
Welcome to Hope County, Montana, home to a fanatical doomsday cult known as The Project at Eden’s Gate that is threatening the community's freedom. Stand up to the cult’s leader, Joseph Seed and the Heralds, and spark the fires of resistance that will liberate the besieged community. In this expansive world, your limits and creativity will be tested against the biggest and most ruthless baddest enemy Far Cry has ever seen. It’ll be wild and it’ll get weird, but as long as you keep your wits about you, the residents of Hope County can rest assured you’re their beacon of hope.
Join the Resistance on March 27, 2018, with Far Cry 5. Available on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
