Epic Games is no stranger to big collaborations, especially when it comes to incorporating characters from other popular IP into its Battle Royale game. We've seen skins inspired by Marvel, Star Wars, various anime, DC Comics, and even other video games. But now that Disney has invested massive amounts of money into the game publisher/developer, fans can expect even more Disney collabs, some of which were announced at D23 this weekend.
During the Disney Horizons Live from D23 presentation, Epic and Disney unveiled a ton of exciting content coming to Fortnite. The biggest announcement was undoubtedly the reveal of the new Marvel-themed season. Chapter 5, Season 4 is titled "Absolute Doom" and will see Marvel's most popular heroes unite to take on the powerful villain. You can actually read more about it here.
But beyond the new season and battle pass, Fortnite players can look forward to even more Disney-inspired outfits making their way to the game. Cosmetics inspired by Disney Villains, Pixar, and Star Wars characters were all confirmed this weekend.
Later this Fall, Maleficent, Cruella de Vil and Captain Hook will become the first Disney Animation characters to join Fortnite. They will likely be available for purchase through the in-game Item Shop, but you can get a glimpse of them in the teaser below.
Also confirmed to be coming later this Fall are the first characters from a Pixar movie. The Incredibles will be making their way into Fortnite, and based on the teaser it looks like the first three will be Frozone, Mr. Incredible, and Mrs. Incredible. With Chapter 5, Season 4 going all-in on superheroes, they should fit in just perfectly.
Lastly, it was confirmed that more characters from the Star Wars universe will be coming to Fortnite, as early as next week. IG-11, Moff Gideon, and all-new Grogue dynamic Back Bling will be available to purchase in Fortnite next week.
In addition to what's coming, Cyclops, Jubilee, and Colossus have already made their way into Fortnite and are available in the Shop now.
As Disney and Epic Games continue this partnership, we should see more Disney IP make their way into Fortnite. Disney did touch on the previously announced experience "where all your favorite Disney characters and worlds converge in one connected universe" but did not have any substantial update. According to the Disney Parks Blog, this new experience "is still a few years away." When it does launch, fans will be able to "watch, play, and even create your own adventures."
