Not sure of what to buy that special friend who is also an avid Fortnite player? How about an in-game item!?

Just in time for the holidays, Epic Games has added gifting to the popular battle royale game. For a limited time one week (at the moment) trial period, you are able to gift items that are available from the in-game Item Shop to a friend. It's super simple also.

All you have to do is go into the Item Shop, choose an item to purchase, and you'll be presented with two options: "Purchase Items" or "Buy As A Gift." If you select the latter, you are able to choose which friend you want to send the gift to along with a custom message. That friend will then receive a gift box with the item and your message the next time they log in.

There are a few rules you must adhere to if you plan on making use of Fortnite's gifting, including having Multi-factor authentication enabled on your account. You're also only able to gift three items within a 24-hour period and can only gift items to someone you have been friends with for at least 48 hours. Gifts that are purchased are not refundable.

Unfortunately, gifting is not available on iOS devices because "Apple's policies prohibit it," according to Epic. If this all sounds too complicated for you, you can always just buy your loved one a gift card for Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo which can then be redeemed to purchase V-Bucks within Fortnite.
