The rocket that has quietly been being built in the Evil Lair near Snobby Shores is almost ready for liftoff. Following this week's update to
Fortnite Battle Royale, the Lair has become much more active with glowing red lights. Additionally, we've been hearing missile sirens every hour, on the hour.
If you've noticed, the televisions throughout the map have featured a countdown clock point towards tomorrow, Saturday, June 30. While many assumed this was an indication of something big about to happen, Epic Games has confirmed such news with
Fortnite's in-game message.
It reads:
"Get in-match on Saturday by 10:30am PT / 1:30pm ET / 7:30pm CET and look to the sky. It only happens once!"
Assuming this is when the rocket launches, it will undoubtedly be a sight to behold. However, don't expect any major alterations to the map - at least not until Season 4 ends in July. With still a week and a half left on the Season 4 Battle Pass, everything must remain in place for the challenges. In all likelihood, the rocket will launch and spend the next week in the sky - similar to what we saw with the meteor leading up to Season 4. As for where the rocket sill hit, many expect Moisty Mire to be the target.
The only potential downside to this is if some idiot decides to open fire on everyone during the rocket launch. Let's hope that doesn't happen and that everyone can get along for at least a few minutes during this event.
