What was perhaps Fortnite's most iconic location has now officially been wiped off the map. Say goodbye to Tilted Towers as Season 8's Volcano just erupted and destroyed both it, Retail Row, and many other less significant places. Where once stood the many (oddly not -tilted) towers, now only stands one. Where Retail Row and Tilted Towers were, now is only an enormous pool of lava.

Naturally, since the volcano's addition to the Fortnite map, players knew that its eruption was imminent. Just last week, the volcano began to rumble. However, it was uncertain which parts of the map it would affect. As the spout began to shoot out rocks and spew out lava, players were teleported into the sky. That's where they would remain, amid the dark ash, as they witnessed these well-known locations be obliterated.

First went Retail Row, then a rock crashed near where Greasy Grove used to be, then multiple flying rocks came hurtling down onto Tilted Towers. Below you can check out the in-game event take place alongside, Fortnite streamer, Ninja (via @BRGaming). As the streamer points out, it is interesting that Epic Games would make such drastic changes to the map with the game's tournament coming up soon.
