After weeks of speculation, leaks, and rumors, Epic Games has confirmed an upcoming collaboration with Netmarble that will see the arrival of Solo Leveling content in the popular battle royale game Fortnite. The collaboration will be based on Netmarble's mobile game, Solo Leveling Arise, and not the anime, but it's an exciting crossover nonetheless.
A short teaser trailer was shared on social media, highlighting the Sung Jin Woo skin. The video teases: “Knight Commander Igris the Bloodred. Will you submit to my control? Arise… ARISE!”
The Solo Leveling: Arise cosmetics will hit the Item Shop in Fortntie on Friday, February 20th at 7:00 p.m. ET. It's been confirmed that we'll have outfits for Sung Jin-Woo, Cha Hae-In, and Igris, plus matching back blings, pickaxes, emotes, a wrap, and a glider.
Like the webtoon and anime franchise that it's based on, Solo Leveling: Arise is incredibly pouplar on mobile and PC. The action RPG sees players take on the role of Sung Jinwoo, a once-weak hunter who has gained the unique ability to "level up" infinitely in a world where others cannot. The game is based directly on the original story and adapts events in the Solo Leveling web novel and webtoon.
As for the anime, it's also quite popular. Season 2 became one of the most-rated anime ever on Crunchyroll, surpassing long-running series liek One Piece and Demon Slayer in user reviews. The series has been praised for its action sequences and high-quality animation. Despite its popularity, a third season has not yet been announced by the studio or streaming paltforms. Producers and Crunchyoll have said that more content is coming, though it's unclear if it will be in the form of a third season or a movie.
So for now, all we really have to look forward to is this Fortnite collaboration.
Solo Leveling is just one of many anime that have come to Fortnite over the years. The blockbuster battle royale game has seen collaborations with Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Attack on Titan, to name a few.
It was recently rumored that we'll be getting a crossover with Kingdom Hearts, but this is something we've heard dozens of times in the past and nothing has ever seemed to come from it.
