Epic Games is no stranger to hosting massive collaborative events with pop cultures icons and the latest sees the developer's blockbuster battle royale game, Fortnite, pairing with world-renowned musical artist Travis Scott. The "Astronomical" event, as it's being called, will see the world premiere of Scott's brand new track.
"Astronomical is an other-worldly experience inspired by Cactus Jack’s creations, built from the ground up in Fortnite," the announcement teases.
In order to accomodate everyone's schedule, Epic is scheduling multiple tour dates with five different showtimes. This will allow as many people as possible to catch the show live (or as an encore) in-game instead of simply watching it on Twitch via a stream if they aren't home or unable to be in the game. The doors will open 30 minutes before each show and these live events do tend to result in login queues, so you'll want to get there early to secure your spot. Here are the five tour dates:
- Thursday, April 23, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. EDT
- Friday, April 24, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. EDT
- Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 12:00 a.m. EDT
- Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. EDT
- Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. EDT
In celebration of the Astronomical event, Fortnite will be adding Travis Scott to the Icon Series. Specially designed Outfits, Emotes and more will be available startig April 21. If you attend any of the Astronomical events, you'll also get a special Astroworld Cyclone Glider and loading screens for free. There will also be additional gear that you can unlock by completing the Astronomical Challenges.
Travis Scott isn't the first musicial to host a concert in Fortnite. A year ago, prolific EDM artist and DJ Marshmello put on a concert in Fortnite's Pleasant Park. The concert featured his music timed to special "choreographed" moments in-game.
