As Season 9 of Fortnite winds down, Epic Games is giving players one last boost to complete their challenges, collect remaining Fortbytes, and gather additional experience.
The Overtime Challenges officially went live on Tuesday, July 23, introducing a new batch of in-game challenges that can be completed to earn exclusive cosmetics and experience. The Overtime Challenges are being introduced in waves, with the first three live and new ones coming every three days after. All of the challenges will be available on Monday, July 29, with the start of Season 10 likely coming in August. Batle Pass owners will be able to earn three outfit variants and all players can earn new loading screen and experience.
In addition to the Overtime Challenges, Epic Games is gearing up to celebrate Fortnite's 2nd birthday. The Fortnite Birthday Celebration will begin on Thursday, July 25 and will run until Wednesday, July 31. The celebration will consist of present supply drops, birthday cakes, and a gift item "you'll be able to toss to your squad." The Battle Buss will also have a special music track and themed skin for the party. And, yes, there will be special cosmetics — including a Pickaxe, Wrap, and more that you'll be able to earn over the course of the birthday celebration.
Fortnite recently hosted an in-game event in which the giant mecha robot fought the massive Polar Peak monster. The battle ended with the robot victorious, but also a mysterious orb created above Loot Lake. It's unclear exactly what this orb will do, but it appears to be ready to burst ahead of Season 10.
