With just two days until
Fortnite's looming ice storm arrives with Season 7, Epic Games has released a second teaser image for the highly anticipated new season. The image is stylistically
like the one that came before it, featuring an icy silhouetted figure snowboarding down what appears to be a mountain (except as
we learned yesterday this is really the shoulder of another frost-crowned figure).
While this is likely an outline of one of the upcoming Season 7 cosmetic outfits, it also suggests that snowboards will be added as a potential vehicle.
This appears to be an enlarged version of the small figure riding on the shoulders of the character in yesterday's teaser. Similarly, you may also notice that today's image has a small character in the background aiming a rifle as he whizzes down a zip line. Assuming Epic Games follows this pattern, tomorrow's teaser should provide a clearer image of what's going on with the zip line. It's possible Season 7 could add even more modes of quick transportation as Epic continues to find ways to de-emphasize the "lol build" strategy.
Fortnite's winter wonderland will be with us when Season 7 goes live on Thursday, December 6. That also happens to be the day of The Game Awards which show organizer Geoff Keighley recently teased
will have some sort of "world premiere" announcement for the popular battle royale game. Nick Chester, a senior PR for Epic, had a follow-up tweet confirming that the world premiere is not related to the Season 7 launch, although he didn't offer any additional hints. In any case, all will be clearer come Thursday.
