Overwatch 2: Invasion will be released later this summer, according to Xbox and Blizzard, who confirmed it during the Xbox Showcase. This highly anticipated Overwatch 2 content update will provide a new season as well as a battle pass and other familiar features.
The most intriguing part, though, is the arrival of long-awaited story missions. In addition, a new PvP game mode called Flashpoint, co-op events, and a hero mastery system that allows players to compare their talents with others who play the same characters are on the way. The teaser for Invasion also showed off a new support hero. All of these amazing new features will be available beginning August 10th, when Invasion is published.
There has been a lot of talk about the Overwatch 2 PvE content, especially with the deletion of the core hero mode. While some sources claimed that PvE and story content had been completely canceled, the Invasion update indicates otherwise. Invasion's story missions will entail Null Sector forces wrecking havoc in several cities and snatching innocent Omnics for an unknown reason.
Null Sector is a violent omnic liberation organization in the Overwatch world. They adopt violent ways to attain omnic rights and aspire to construct an omnic country. The soldiers of Null Sector are made of robotic drones under the control of Ramattra, the group's creator and leader. They appear as one of the primary opposing organizations in Overwatch 2
With the help of old allies and new faces, the new Overwatch team must uncover their goals and put an end to the mayhem. Players can team up with friends or join others online to take on the thrilling action-packed story missions, which pit them against tough forces such as Annihilators and deadly Stalkers.
As opposed to PvP modes, Overwatch 2 co-op events will allow players to explore maps in greater detail. The previously announced Flashpoint mode will see players battling for control of several points, similar to Domination or Headquarters games. The hero mastery system adds "courses" in which players can practice certain characters while competing on leaderboards.
There isn't much information known yet about the new support hero. The Overwatch 2: Invasion trailer revealed the hero but left fans wanting more information.
Mark your calendars for August 10th, when Overwatch 2: Invasion will be released, adding new content and experiences to the game. Overwatch 2 is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Meanwhile, Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 was released, transporting players to the Wilds and presenting a magnificent new Transformers skin featuring Optimus Prime.
