Considering that Avalanche Studios' past two games (
Just Cause 4 and
Generation Zero) released to rather mixed reviews,
RAGE 2 is a big unknown, On one hand, the game is being co-developed by the renowned creators of the original title from id Software (who are working on
DOOM: Eternal), but on the other one – developing three titles simultaneously might have been just too much for Avalanche.
While the latest gameplay footage from
RAGE 2 doesn't answers all those questions, it does give us our best look yet at the upcoming extravaganza’s core gameplay mechanizes. According to the developers,
RAGE 2 will be a much different experience than its predecessor, abandoning the original’s grayness and depressing tones. Just like
Far Cry: New Dawn, RAGE 2 is all about hope – and hurting people.
RAGE 2 is set in 2165, thirty years after the events of the first game, so you will definitely have many chances to meet characters from the 2009 title, even if they made some bold stylist choices.
Without further ado, be sure to take a closer look at the truly bizarre world of
RAGE 2 down below:
In the year 2185, humanity’s numbers are dwindling. Ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roam the open roads and the tyrannical Authority seek to rule who remains with an iron fist. You are Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland. Robbed of your home and left for dead, you’ll tear across an unforgiving wasteland battling bloodthirsty gangs to find the tools and tech needed to take the fight to The Authority and crush their oppressive rule once and for all!
RAGE 2 will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 14, 2019.
