DICE Announces CAPITAL SUPREMACY - Brand New STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT II Game Mode

DICE has finally revealed new details on Star Wars: Battlefront II's upcoming large-scale game mode, titled Capital Supremacy. While that multiplayer component was announced at EA PLAY 2018, the developers haven't shared any new information of the mode that whole time – at least until now.

According to DICE, Capital Supremacy will be a pure Clone Wars experience, meaning that all the heroes, villains, tech, and reinforcements available in-game will be from that particular era.

At launch, Capital Supremacy will be available upon Geonosis, the Attack of the Clones-inspired map that was introduced in the major November update. According to DICE, this "isn’t the Geonosis that you know from Galactic Assault or Heroes vs Villains," as the developers' goal was to "make an environment that was created specifically with the gameplay of Capital Supremacy in mind."

The mode's rules are simple – to win, you have to gain access to the opposing team's Capital Ship and destroy it. While that task doesn't sound hard, it will definitely be a wild ride, as you will begin your Supremacy journey planetside. From that point, you will try to take control of several Command Posts that will be scattered around the planet, and which Post you go after is entirely up to you.

Naturally, when you're busy capturing one Post, the opposing team will try to do the same, so you will have to choose carefully between attacking and defending every time you're playing the mode.

Capital Supremacy will be a 20 v 20 mode, meaning that up to 40 player-controlled units at any given time can take part, with 8 players joining the fight as Light Side Heroes (Obi-Wan, Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, Chewbacca) and Dark Side Heroes (General Grievous, Count Dooku, Darth Maul, Bossk).

The battle for Capital Supremacy will finally begin on March 26, 2019 with two new reinforcements: the dual wielding ARC Trooper and the vibrosword wielding BX-series Commando Droid.
