Riot Games has opened pre-orders for the League of Legends Classic Collector’s Box, a limited physical and digital bundle that gives players immediate access to one of the rarest skins in the game’s history: Silver Kayle. The skin that many one-tricks and collectors alike have hunted for but could never get.
Priced at $89.99 on the official Riot Merch store, the box is themed around the early days of League of Legends and the new League Classic mode. It combines nostalgic physical items with a substantial set of in-game rewards, the most notable of which is the modern version of Silver Kayle.
What’s in the Box
The Collector’s Box contains both physical merchandise and digital content delivered through patch 26.15.
Physical items include:
- Classic Collector’s Box packaging and manual
- A “Totally Legitimate” Runeterra map
- Classic Rune coasters
- Victory/Defeat reversible keychains
- A Classic Champion Quotes sticker pack
Digital rewards are split into two bundles:
Classic Welcome Bundle
- Classic Season Pass
- Annie and Alistar Champion Shards
- Classic Annie (Founder’s Goth) Classic Chroma
- Classic Alistar (Founder’s Black) Classic Chroma
- Goth Annie Modern Skin
- Black Alistar Modern Skin
- Resplendent Explorer Ezreal Portrait
- Two exclusive emotes
Exclusive Collector’s Box Bundle
- Kayle Champion Shard
- Silver Kayle Modern Skin
- Classic Kayle (Founder’s Silver) Classic Chroma
The standout reward is clearly Silver Kayle. Originally released in November 2009 as part of the physical Retail Collector’s Edition, the skin has been one of the rarest and most sought-after cosmetics in League for over 15 years. Codes for the original Collector’s Edition skins were deactivated long ago, making Silver Kayle effectively unobtainable through normal means. Accounts that own the original skin have often carried a significant premium on the secondary market.
This new Collector’s Box marks the first official way in years for players to add a version of Silver Kayle to their collection. The modern skin is usable in standard League of Legends, while the Founder’s Silver Classic Chroma is designed for League Classic.
Important Notes
Players must be logged into a Riot account to purchase the box. Digital content is granted through patch 26.15. Classic skins, classic chromas, and portraits included in the bundle are restricted to League of Legends Classic and cannot be used in the main game.
Some shipping delays have been reported due to a warehouse upgrade, particularly for orders placed in mid-to-late July, though this may vary by region.
For longtime players and collectors, the return of Silver Kayle in any form is notable. The skin carries significant nostalgia as one of the original Collector’s Edition rewards from League’s launch era. Pairing it with matching classic chromas for Annie and Alistar, plus a mix of physical memorabilia, makes the box one of the more substantial nostalgia offerings Riot has released in recent years.
At $89.99, the Collector’s Box sits at a premium price point, but the inclusion of a previously unobtainable skin alongside multiple other cosmetics and physical items gives it clearer value than a standard skin sale. Players primarily interested in Silver Kayle now have an official path to unlock it without resorting to account trading. The League Classic Collector’s Box is available for pre-order now on the Riot Games Merch store.
