As we turn the calendar page from October to November, we move closer to the final update of 2018 for
Star Wars: Battlefront II. Don't worry, though, as EA has plans to continue supporting the game with new content in 2019. Unfortunately, we don't yet know what those plans entail, and apparently, neither does EA just yet.
While EA has already outlined what to expect with the November update, the plans get a bit murkier for 2019. Taking to
Reddit a few days ago, EA acknowledged they are unable to release an updated roadmap because they are "still planning out our second year of content."
"We know that many of you have had questions around this topic, and we’re excited to confirm that content will continue to be released for Star Wars Battlefront II into 2019," the developer assured.
The last roadmap EA released was at the beginning of October and it outlined plans all the way through February 2019. Whether or not those plans are still intact remains to be seen. As a reminder, 2019 was expected to see the arrival of Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker as playable characters along with a new game mode "featuring capture points and capital ship takedowns."
But while the future is unclear at the moment, fans have taken it upon themselves to dig through the game's files for any clues as to what could be coming in the next few months. What they found was evidence that
Clone Wars favorites Ahsoka and Padme could be added to the game.
Over on Twitter,
Dangercat shared interaction codes for General Grievous; specifically, the newly added character has 42 lines with Padme and 44 lines with Ahsoka. Furthermore, Redditor Kekstreamer
found actual code for these lines within the game's files. As noted, there are quite a few lines in which General Grievous actually says their name.
Keep in mind, this isn't confirmation that Ahsoka and Padme will definitely be added to the game, but it is a strong possibility, especially given the developer's intentions of bringing more female heroes into the mix. Additionally,
Clone Wars content has been a big focus of EA for
Battlefront II. General Grievous was added to the game this week.
With no roadmap planned for November, it looks like we'll have to wait until December before we get any official answers.
