One of the most exciting announcements to come out of E3 was the fact that Star Wars Battlefront is getting a special VR mission for the PlayStation 4. However, it was confirmed Gamescom today that it will tie into this December's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. That makes a lot of sense, though it's still a surprise (however, the developer previously revealed that other Rogue One themed DLC is on the way).
Criterion producer Pete Lake didn't offer any further details on how the VR mission connects to the Gareth Edwards helmed release, biut did say that, "We've been working really closely with Lucasfilm to make this the perfect tie in to this new movie." Not much is known about the mission as of right now, though it's thought that players will be able to pilot an X-Wing and battle a Star Destroyer.
Surprisingly, this Rogue One VR mission is going to be free to those who already own Star Wars Battlefront, a good incentive to get gamers to pick up the pricey headset. What do you guys think?
