One of the biggest complaints of Tom Clancy's The Division was paid DLC and a lack of endgame content, as some players put in some serious effort to end up hitting the maximum level cap in just 15 hours’ time. After reaching Level 30, the game offered only Daily Missions, farming gear and weapons and fighting in The Dark Zone, a large walled-off quarantine zone in the middle of Manhattan.
Massive Entertainment has promised that The Division 2 won't repeat the first's games mistakes and it seems that the upcoming sequel will offer something for gamers that like to play with friends, but lone wolves shouldn’t be disappointed this time. "It's really a core principal for us that there is no right or wrong way to play The Division,” game director Mathias Karlson said in an interview with AusGamers. “You can play through the entire story campaign into end-game and [then the] end-game [content], alone. [But] you can also do the same content [in] two, three, or four player co-op. Or eight player co-op, two full groups in the raid if you opt into the challenge that we're adding. So it's very important for us that you get to pick."
In the context of Karlson's words, it sounds like playing alone also applies to raids, challenging missions that will test the skill, communication, and teamwork of even the most expert Agents. Progress in the end-game will take on additional meaning thanks to the new Specialization system, letting you choose a path like sharpshooter, demolitionist, or survivalist. So, if you're not interested in working with other players, Tom Clancy's The Division 2 won't put obstacles in your way.
Washington D.C. is on the brink of collapse. Lawlessness and instability threaten our society, and rumors of a coup in the capitol are only amplifying the chaos. All active Division agents are desperately needed to save the city before it's too late. You are a member of the Division, an elite group of civilian agents charged with being the last line of defense. With DC at risk, it's time to gear up and use your unique skills to take on this new threat.
Tom Clancy's The Division 2 will be available March 15th, 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
