New BATTLEFIELD V Mode Revealed And It's Not Battle Royale

Following Battlefield V's official reveal last week, DICE has unveiled another new mode coming to the game. And no, despite rumors, it's not a battle royale mode. However, it does have at least one element from the popular game mode sweeping the industry.

The new mode is called Airborne and it was briefly detailed on Twitter, although it seems we'll have to wait until E3 to see actual gameplay of it. As for what DICE revealed, you'll parachute into the battlefield from what looks like a massive cargo plane (sort of like dropping out of a giant bus in Fortnite) and from there you will work with your squad to destroy enemy artillery or defend your own. So besides the dropping out of a plane thing, there's really no similarities to battle royale at all.

Regardless, the mode sounds like it has potential, but it's hard to judge without having seen gameplay yet. We'll hopefully see more during EA's press conference at EA Play on Saturday, June 9 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
