DOOM Eternal has had quite the interesting run since it was released in March of this year, after having been delayed in order for the developers to have some extra time to polish final details, and give players the top quality product they expect from them.
Not a week after the game was released, Bethesda and id Software proudly announced that the critically acclaimed DOOM Eternal had managed to set a new launch sales record for the DOOM franchise, and amounting over 100,000 players on Steam; also becoming the best-selling title on that platform that week.
Bethesda and id Software are still supporting the game, and have been releasing new updates that have enhanced the gameplay experience for players, so DOOM Eternal is still giving players a pretty great run for their money — which is to be expected from the developers that gave us the phenomenal DOOM(2016).
Earlier today, Bethesda revealed some great news for fans of the DOOM series, revealing that DOOM Eternal will also be launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and that the games will be free for those who have already purchased the current-gen version of the game.
Likewise, Bethesda announced that The Elder Scrolls Online will also be getting the same treatment, so players who already own either of those two titles will be able to upgrade to their next-gen counterpart completely free of charge.
DOOM Eternal puts you in control of the DOOM Slayer as you blow apart new and classic demons with powerful weapons in unbelievable and never-before-seen worlds. Experience the ultimate combination of speed and power as you rip and tear your way across dimensions with the next leap in push-forward, first-person combat.
DOOM Eternal is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC; Nintendo Switch version expected to release soon.
