Giancarlo Esposito, best known for featuring in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and The Mandalorian, recently teased that he will be starring in a major, upcoming video game. However, stopped short of revealing what video game. Speculation had it that he would feature in the next entry in the Far Cry series. We now know that to be the case.
The PlayStation Store, specifically the Hong Kong version of the PlayStation Store, has leaked an abundance of information pertaining to Far Cry 6. Giancarlo Esposito features front and center on the game's key art. The actor will almost certainly be playing the antagonist of the game, what with the key art for previous installments featuring their respective villains.
That's not all though. We also have a synopsis for the game, we know where it will take place, and when the game will release. First of all, Far Cry 6 will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 18th, 2021. We can only presume that the same is the case for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X but that's yet to be confirmed.
It's said that, should you purchase Far Cry 6 for the PlayStation 4, you will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for free. Very considerate of Ubisoft. You play as Dani Rojas, a local Yaran who becomes a guerrilla fighter to liberate the nation.
"Fight against Anton's troops in the largest Far Cry playground to date across jungles, beaches and Esperanza the capital city of Yara," reads the store page. It's clear that Far Cry 6 will feature the most expansive and varied game world in the series to date. Anton is presumably Esposito's character.
The synopsis goes as such: "Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps. Their ruthless oppression has ignited a revolution."
Far Cry 6 will undoubtedly be revealed during the forthcoming Ubisoft Forward event on July 12th. Stay tuned to Gamefragger for more coverage. You can check out the leaked key art below.
