This week was supposed to mark the launch of
Fortnite Battle Royale's
long-awaited practice mode - Playground LTM. Well,
shortly after its launch, the mode hit a snag and Epic quickly disabled it. The mode has not been available since and in the most recent update, Epic says it will not go live until at least next week.
"We’re continuing testing on our matchmaking improvements and are still aiming to open the Playground LTM as soon as we're confident in our improvements," Epic said in a
statement.
"Once we have confirmed that our testing was successful we will begin gradually rolling servers out to all regions and platforms until it’s available to all players."
Over on social media, Epic announced on Friday that they have been unable to resolve the issues affecting Playground LTM, assuring fans they will continue to work on a fix over the weekend and hopefully launch the mode next week. The next update with any additional information will be shared on Monday, July 2.
Playground LTM was designed to give players a chance to practice their building and combat strategies without the stress of a normal game environment. The mode drops players into the
Battle Royale map with an extended period of roaming time, increased resource generation, and all of the treasure chests and ammo crates. Friendly fire is also enabled allowing you to scrimmage with your squad. When the mode is finally fixed, it will certainly be welcomed by the community; hopefully, it doesn't take much longer.
