Following last week's update to Fortnite's battle royale mode, which introduced the Rift-To-Go and a number of changes to the map, Epic has now released Content Update v5.30. Today's update, now available, adds the Shockwave Grenade to Battle Royale.
The new item looks like an improved version of the impulse grenade, launching players "great distances without inflicting fall damage." The blast is also strong enough that it can send players flying through structures, as seen in the video below. The Shockwave Grenade comes in stacks of two, with a max stack size of six, and can be found in Supply Drops, Vending Machines, Llamas, and chests.
In addition to the Shockwave Grenade, today's update also adds the Solid Gold Limited Time Mode. This new LTM only offers legendary weapons and will be playable as both Solid Gold and Solid Gold 50v50.
For those who prefer PvE,
Fortnite's Save the World is now on Horde Challenge Week 4. Epic teases: "Build strong bases and bring plenty of ammo because Traps won’t trigger in this weeks challenge. Gather your friends and survive the horde." The Bladestorm Enforcer, a brand new Mythic Ninja, is also available. He very much resembles
the Road Trip Challenge outfit that's available if you complete seven weeks' worth of Battle Pass challenges in Battle Royale.
