In a twitter exchange with a journalist from The Wall Street Journal, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen revealed that microtransactions will be returning to Star Wars: Battlefront 2. This decision was made because the game shipped a lot less units than the developer had anticipated. In the Holiday Quarter, 9 million units of the game were sold. Mr. Jorgensen pointed out that loot boxes will be back in a few months and will only be cosmetic in nature.
