Last month, we reported on a rumour that Quantic Dream was developing a new action-adventure Star Wars video game set during the High Republic era of the galaxy far, far away. The Game Awards has just rolled up and confirmed that rumour.

One of the first trailers of the night was a cinematic trailer for Star Wars: Eclipse. This trailer features a ton of iconic imagery that's sure to catch the eye of any Star Wars fan, including protocol droids, a Mon Calamari, Trade Federation blockade ships, lightsabers, and much more.

Now that it has been officially revealed, the site StarWarsEclipse.com discloses more information about the game. "From award-winning independent studio Quantic Dream and Lucasfilm Games," the homepage declares, "comes Star Wars Eclipse™, a new action-adventure, multiple-character branching narrative game set in the High Republic era of the iconic Star Wars™ galaxy, now early in development."

According to the site, the game will feature one of Quantic Dream's trademarks: a branching narrative. Star Wars: Eclipse will follow multiple charismatic playable characters, each with their own morality, personality, motivations and impact upon each other and the story at large.

this has vibes of being fairly close to the time period of Ep 1. Very interesting to see how Quantic Dreams adapts to an action game, that's been the weakest part of every game they have worked on up to this point.
