STAR WARS: SQUADRONS Reveal Trailer Released; Coming To PlayStation 4, Xbox One, And PC In October

Star Wars: Squadrons has been officially revealed. The combat flight simulator set in "a galaxy far, far away..." is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in October 2020.

Just a week ago, nobody knew anything about Star Wars: Squadrons — not even its name. Since then, an insider claimed that it would be revealed soon, the Microsoft Store leaked the game's existence to the world, and Electronic Arts promptly confirmed that the reveal trailer for Star Wars: Squadrons would debut on Monday, June 15th. Well, that's today.

The trailer is here! The speculation of rumors have proven to be accurate, Star Wars: Squadrons is a combat flight simulator set in the "galaxy far, far away" and predominantly set during the Galactic Civil War — in lamen's terms, that means around the time of the original trilogy.

It seems that the game includes both a singleplayer campaign as well as an online multiplayer mode. Surprisingly, Star Wars: Squadrons will be releasing for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Origin, Steam, and Epic Games Store) as soon as October 2nd, 2020. What's more, the game will support VR on both PlayStation 4 and PC as well as crossplay on all platforms.

"Buckle up, take full control of starfighters such as the X-wing and TIE fighter, and feel the adrenaline of strategic first-person 5v5 multiplayer dogfights alongside your squadron," the description of the reveal trailer provides a synopsis for Star Wars: Squadrons.

"In a fateful campaign set near the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War, learn what it means to be a pilot in a thrilling STAR WARS™ single-player story. The New Republic fights for freedom. The Empire demands order. We need you to join the galaxy's finest."

While the trailer itself doesn't feature any gameplay, it's said that Star Wars: Squadrons gameplay will premiere at EA Play on June 18th at 4 PM PT. So, be sure to tune into Gamefragger in three days as we will be covering everything EA. You can check out the exciting reveal trailer for yourself below (via EA Star Wars):
