No Man's Sky has come a long since the title's initial debut in 2016. While many players fell in love with
Sky's infinite scope and ambition, there was no denying that the repetitive gameplay, little-to-no content and technical issues nearly killed the game. Despite terrible atmosphere and lackluster reviews, the game's designers from Hello Game kept pushing forward and updating
No Man's Sky.
No Man's Sky Next was announced for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in March of this year, described as a major update that would finally include online multiplayer and drastically improve the overall experience. Quite shockingly,
No Man's Sky Next gave the space exploring title a new life, bringing advanced character customization, space battles, and things that were promised in 2013.
Thankfully,
Next is not the end of
No Man's Sky's post-launch support and Sean Murray and the Hello Games crew have announced a brand new updated titled
The Abyss. It will be free for existing players, focusing on some of the eerier elements of
No Man’s Sky, in keeping with the theme of this season - Halloween. The update is releasing next week, but further details were not announced. Take a look:
Embark on an epic voyage to the center of a boundless universe. Entire galaxies lay waiting to be discovered. Be the first to land on beautiful, unknown planets teeming with life. Survive hazardous environments, where alien civilizations seek their fortune and outlaws take it by force.
No Man's Sky Next is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
