The pirate adventure multiplayer game, Sea of Thieves, has a special promotion going on for this week. The Microsoft and Rare title is offering players the opportunity to jump in the game and enjoy the high seas with no cost. Here is how you can play the game for free.

The promotion starts from today and ends on February 13. Any player that has purchased the game or is a member fo the Xbox Game Pass can invite up to three friends that do not own the title. As long as you have one friend that owns the title or is a member of the subscription service, you can jump in and play for free.

Both Xbox One and PC are participating in this promotion. A special quest will be going live this week as well. Players will need to find Duke in the tavern who will transport them into this limited-time event called Mercenary Voyage. Also, if your friend gives you an invite code, you can buy the game at a 35 percent discount, this promotion ends on February 27.

Sea of Thieves offers the essential pirate experience, from sailing and fighting to exploring and looting – everything you need to live the pirate life and become a legend in your own right. With no set roles, you have complete freedom to approach the world, and other players, however you choose.

Whether you’re voyaging as a group or sailing solo, you’re bound to encounter other crews in this shared-world adventure – but will they be friends or foes, and how will you respond?

Sea of Thieves is available for the Xbox One and PC
