A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is set to release next week and the developers of the upcoming single-player horror game have revealed a new optional feature for added realism. Like the movies it is based on, you'll have to be really quiet because the game will listen to your microphone for any noise you make in real life and alert the monsters in the game.
It's a completely optional feature but one that is true to the nature of the film franchise. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a single-player horror game based on Paramount Pictures' post-apocalyptic horror franchise. In the films, the extraterrestrial creatures have an acute sense of hearing, so the characters must remain completely silent.
In A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, you play as a young survivor trying to navigate the new, eerily tranquil, post-apocalyptic landscape. The game emphasizes stealth survival tactics as you sneak around in absolute silence, leveraging tools in your surroundings when needed.
The game's description teases:
Capturing the frantic terror, unnerving atmosphere and gripping human drama that made the franchise famous, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is designed for fans of the films, horror games, and story-driven adventures alike. With nothing more than your wits and the simple tools you can scavenge, you’ll have to overcome the many treacherous challenges and obstacles that lie ahead, all while trying to survive the ever-present dangers that lurk all around you.
Experience the harrowing journey of Alex, a young college student suffering from asthma and struggling to survive the end of the world alongside her boyfriend, Martin. But the nightmarish creatures stalking the land aren’t the only threat she’ll have to contend with as she travels through the ruins of civilization in search of a safe haven for herself and her family.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is developed by the Italian studio Stormwind Games, the creators of the survival horror franchise Remothered and action RPG Batora: Lost Haven. It's published by Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 maker Saber Interactive.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is scheduled to be released on October 17 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S,and PC. Pre-ordering the game will get a Hospital Care Package for in-game use, exclusive digital concept art, and a creature animation showcase.
