During this week's Silent Hill Transmission, Konami shared the official reveal trailer for SIlent HIll f, the long-awaited next installment in the survival horror series. It's been over two years since Konami first announced the title, and fans have been patiently waiting for new details. Their patience has been rewarded with a cinematic trailer and a few new details.

Silent Hill f takes place in 1960s Japan, in the small town of Ebisugaoka. The story follows Shimizu Hinako, a young student who finds herself in a twisted version of her hometown.

With Ebisugaoka is consumed by a sudden fog and trnasformed into a haunting nightmare, Hinako must solve puzzles and confront grotesque monsters, while unraveling the mystery of what happened to her town. Although Silent Hill F is independent from previous games in the series, with all-new monsters, there are plenty of Easter Eggs hidden for fans to discover.

The trailer below serves as more of an introduction to Silent Hill f, setting the tone for what to expect. We get a glimpse at some of the terrifying new creates we'll encounter, but specfic gameplay details remain under wraps. One thing is for sure, Silent Hill f sure looks like a promising psychological horror.

"Will Hinako embrace the beauty hidden within terror, or succumb to the madness that lies ahead?" Konami teases.

Hinako's hometown is engulfed in fog, driving her to fight grotesque monsters and solve eerie puzzles. Uncover the disturbing beauty hidden in terror.

Silent Hill f is being developed by NeoBards Entertainment, a studio with experience supporting Resident Evil games, including the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3. THe game's story is written by Japanese author Ryukishi07, best known for creating the acclaimed When They Cry visual novel series. Silent Hill veteran Akira Yamaoka returns as composer for scenes set in the fog world of Ebisugaoka. The horrifying creatures we got a glimpse of in the above trailer are designed by Japanese artist Kera.

Konami did not share release details for Silent Hill f, so we're still not sure when exaclty the game will launch. However, it will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Silent Hill f is the next mainline game in the horror franchise, but was revealed in 2022 alongside several other Silent Hill projects. We're still awaiting more details on the Silent Hill 2 remake as well as Silent Hill: Townfall, which is in development at No Code.
