Dead by Daylight players on PC are about to get their first hands-on time with the game's next licensed killer. Behaviour Interactive has confirmed that the Terrifier Public Test Build featuring Art the Clown opens on October 27, ahead of the chapter's full launch in November 2026.

Behaviour has been building up to the PTB with a pair of short teasers on social media. The first, shared last week, showed Art aiming a lit blowtorch straight at the camera.

A follow-up over the weekend swapped the blowtorch for a bloody club full of nails, captioned "This punchline's going to hurt."

What We Know About Art's Kit

Officially, not much. Behaviour has not revealed Art's power, his three perks, his Mori or whether the chapter includes a Survivor or a map. The two teasers each show a different weapon, which could point toward a power that lets Art switch between tools, but that is only speculation until the build goes live. Some details have been circulating online from unofficial sources, and we are not reporting on those until Behaviour shares the real kit.

What is official is the timing. The crossover was revealed over the summer with a short post reading "Dead by Daylight x Terrifier. November 2026," and that window has not changed. There is still no exact release date for the full chapter.

How The PTB Works

The Public Test Build is a separate preview version of Dead by Daylight available only on Steam. Players who own the game on Steam can opt into the PTB to try upcoming killers, survivors and balance changes before they arrive on the live servers. Behaviour typically keeps a PTB running for a couple of weeks while it gathers feedback, and changes made during that period can affect how a killer plays at launch.

That means console players will need to wait for the November release to try Art, though plenty of streamers and content creators will be showing off his power and perks as soon as the build goes up. If you plan to watch rather than play, expect a flood of first impressions and early builds within hours of launch.

Chucky Is Leaving

Art's arrival comes alongside one notable exit. Behaviour announced late last week that the Chucky Chapter will be removed from in-game and first-party stores on November 24, 2026, nearly three years after the Good Guy joined the roster. Anyone who already owns him keeps access, so players who want The Good Guy in their collection should grab the Chapter before it disappears.

Licensed content leaving Dead by Daylight is nothing new. Licensing deals eventually run out, and Behaviour has removed other licensed chapters from sale in the past, most notably the Stranger Things Chapter, which left the store a few years ago before eventually making a comeback. Chucky fans can hold out hope for a similar return down the line, but there is no guarantee. It is a good reminder for fans to pick up any licensed killers they care about while they are still available.

A Busy Month In The Fog

The Terrifier PTB lands right after another big crossover. The Diablo Collection is out now and turns The Artist into Lilith, while Mephisto and Belial arrived as Ascended Outfits for The Nurse and The Dredge. Players can also enter the code DIABLO in the in-game Store before November 25 to claim a free Banner and Badge.

Beyond the game, the franchise is still expanding. A Dead by Daylight movie adaptation is also in the works.

Will you be jumping into the Terrifier PTB on Steam, or waiting for the full chapter to launch in November?
