DONTNOD has uploaded a 55-minute developer's session on Twitch that allows gamers to get a pretty solid feel for Vampyr ahead of its June 05 release.
The gameplay footage starts about 6-hours into the campaign so the opening cinematics and first missions are kept a secret for launch day. What's immediately on display is the fact that players are free to kill or spare any of the citizens they encounter in London while drinking their blood. There's also additional scenario to this mechanic in that the protagonist was initially a doctor and players are free to develop medicine and improve the quality of life of the local population. A healthier town will result in larger power boosts from feeding.
The flip side to protecting citizens is that each of the four districts available to be visited will have their own health bar. If it drops too low, that district will be closed forever and access to shops, key NPCs and side quests will be permanently lost. This development opens the door to multiple playthroughs with different endgame results.
