Yesterday, it was revealed that a portion of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Special Ops mode would be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 for an entire year. Spec Ops consists of missions that are similar to the game's campaign mode only you can often play them co-operatively with another player. However, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 introduced a new aspect to Spec Ops with Survival Mode.

In this gamemode, players would be put up against increasingly difficult waves of enemies — the challenge being to see how long you can survive. It's this mode that will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare until October 1st, 2020.

There has been a good amount of backlash due to this news. Xbox and PC understandably want in on the content and don't think they should have to wait a year to partake in it. One of these disappointed fans took their quarrel straight to Infinity Ward with a tweet directed at narrative director Taylor Kurosaki.

"You can play Spec Ops and every new bit of content we drop, day one. The only timed exclusivity is Survival, which is a sliver of Spec Ops," the developer clarified in his reply before suggesting that it wasn't a decision made by him nor Infinity Ward but likely Activision.

"I respect your decision. We do our BEST every day to give our players the best experience possible. There are decisions that are above all of our pay grades that have to be considered. I understand your feelings, but this is much better than others I have seen," Kurosaki tweeted (@taylorkurosaki).

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25th, 2019.
