Frontier Developments’ upcoming park building game
Jurassic World Evolution added two more Hollywood stars to its cast of characters: Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong.
The two actors, who star as Claire Dearing and Dr. Henry Wu in the
Jurassic World films, are reprising their roles in the game. They
join Jeff Goldblum - as Dr. Ian Malcolm - who will also have a role in the game (and in the upcoming movie as well). While Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm will serve as sort of your moral compass and tactical guide in the game, it’s unclear what sort of roles Claire Dearing and Dr. Henry Wu will play; although, the developer teases
“an all-new story that touches on key characters and events from across the Jurassic film franchise as players attempt to successfully build and run their own Jurassic World.”
Perhaps Claire, who served as operations manager in the original
Jurassic World and returns to the island in
Fallen Kingdom, will pop in to warn you of the dangers of breeding dinosaurs. Meanwhile, BD Wong, who clearly likes to play God with these creatures, will likely play a villainous role. Now all that’s left for Frontier and Universal to confirm for the game is Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady, though figuring out time to record that voiceover work might have proved too difficult considering he’s the star of
Jurassic World: Jurassic Kingdom and Marvel’s
Avengers and
Guardians of the Galaxy.
Jurassic World Evolution places players in control of operations on the legendary island of Isla Nublar and the surrounding islands of the Muertes Archipelago. Players will build their own Jurassic World as they bioengineer new dinosaur breeds and construct attractions, containment and research facilities. Every choice leads to a different path and spectacular challenges arise when “life finds a way.”
Jurassic World Evolution will launch digitally at first on June 12, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One before releasing as a physical game on July 3, 2018.
