Turtle Rock Studios (formerly Valve South) is an American video game developer founded in March 2002. The studio is best known for developing the Left 4 Dead games as the very first title in the zombie series was announced on November 20, 2006. The brand and Turtles were acquired by Valve Corporation on January 10, 2008, but was re-founded in 2011 as an independent company to produce their new IP, Evolve.
Evolve's publisher 2K has announced that the game’s dedicated servers will be shutting down on September 3, 2018. This means features such as Hunt (Ranked), leaderboards and the in-game store won't be available. What's even worse, on 2nd July 2018, Stage 2, the free-to-download version of the game, will no longer be available on PC. It seems Turtle's Evolve time has finally and ultimately come.
Thankfully, the Evolve troubles are ot stopping Turtle from developing brand new titles, as the studio is currently looking for a Senior Level Designer on an unannounced AAA title. Turtle Rock Studio has yet to officially reveal that big-budget first-person shooter in question, but the job posting is looking for someone who can actually create "fun encounters" and "awesome level layouts."
