George Miller is a renowned director known for helming the
Mad Max series — notably, the most recent instlament
Mad Max: Fury Road which won quite a few Academy Awards.
Death Stranding is a highly anticipated, upcoming game director by similarly renowned director Hideo Kojima.
Previously, Kojima tweeted praise for
Mad Max: Fury Road, citing it as an influencing
Death Stranding. Well, it turns out that George Miller is quite a fan of
Death Stranding. During a recent
IGN video, Miller spoke about the upcoming video game and praised it for being stunning. The director continued, heaping praise on Kojima himself for being creatively courageous and a boundary breaker.
“It’s wonderful imagery as well. It’s stunning. In films and so on you see the same ideas, the same tropes, the same – something that a few years earlier might’ve been groundbreaking have now become kind of cliché. And that’s where the creative courage comes in. Somebody like Kojima-san who’s prepared to push the boundaries.”
“The skill that I see in great filmmakers, I now see in Kojima-san’s work… it’s all there, all in the service of giving an audience an intense experience," Miller said in an IGN video which you can check out below. With only two weeks left until Death Stranding releases, here's hoping it will be as good as it's being made out to be.
