With the Closed Beta Test for Marvel Rivals coming in less than two weeks, developer NetEase continues to drum up hype through character spotlights. The newest trailer focuses on Venom.
"Native to the planet Klyntar but once bonded to a certain infuriating web-head, the alien symbiote found his pair in the disgruntled Eddie Brock, together becoming the hulking Venom," the character's description reads. "After years as a hungering force of evil, these halves have found their way to becoming a one-of-a-kind lethal protector, evolving beyond their kin yet never surrendering their unmatched ferocity."
"Lost in the Timestream Entanglement, Venom remains unable to recollect their past, thrust into worlds unknown as they function on instinct to recuperate. However, darkness stirs in the far reaches of the Multiverse as something ancient wriggles its tendrils into divine minds across all of time and space. Now, it's up to Venom to recover their memory and take the battle to the edge of space, whether dressed in black or blue!"
In the trailer below, we get our first look at Venom, the lethal protector. Like Spider-Man, Venom is able to wall-crawl and sling across the map using his tendrils. In addition to his gameplay, we get to see alternative outfits.
Venom will be playable in the upcoming Closed Beta Test for Marvel Rivals, which kicks off this month for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Joining the roster alongside Venom is Adam Warlock, although we've yet to get a spotlight trailer for him.
With the addition of Venom and Adam Warlock, the playable roster for Marvel Rivals now stands at 21. The current list of Marvel heroes and villains include: Adam Warlock, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Groot, Hela, Hulk, Iron Man, Loki, Luna Snow, Magik, Magneto, Mantis, Namor, Peni Parker, Punisher, Rocket Raccoon, Star-Lord, Storm, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, and Venom. All of them will be available in the beta.
