Even after their recent E3 press conference, and the release of the first official trailer, there are still a lot of questions swirling Marvel's Avengers. Perhaps, one of the most pressing question coming out of E3 2019 was whether the Square Enix game would be open world.
Now, thanks to an interview with Eurogamer, Crystal Dynamics' lead designer Philippe Therien and senior producer Rose Hunt have finally answered that mystery.
"The game isn't open world, there's way too many different places to explore for that to have made sense," Therien explained. "We're looking at having different kinds of regions where you can go from place to place. The Avengers are effective worldwide and we wanted to show that."
While Therien's comments may have touch on this subject, producer Rose Hunt also added that they "wanted the game to have world stakes," making it vital to have Earth's Mightiest Heroes visit a variety of different locales.
Marvel's Avengers is currently scheduled to launch on May 15, 2020 and features a stellar voice cast that includes Nolan North, Laura Bailey, Troy Baker, Travis Willingham, and Jeff Schine.
